Our Style Options for Your Half Brick Porch

Every half brick porch we make will be gable end as standard, but once you have settled on the design, the style and more intricate features will be yours to decide. No matter if you’re looking for a completely contemporary style to suit a red brick home in the suburbs, or want a traditional aesthetic to match the architecture of an older property, we can make your frames just as you have asked for them.

We’ll Take Bespoke Requests

On occasion, customers will come to us with their own ideas in mind for the porch they’d like to see on their property. When this happens, we are more than happy to accommodate. So, if you have any plans on paper for a half brick porch but you cannot see the design on our website, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’ll do everything we can to ensure you get the product you want.

Our Half Brick Porch Kits are Primed for Easy Assembly

We understand that when you buy something to build it yourself, you want to ensure the work can be completed as soon as possible. This is why we prime our kits for an easy assembly, using traditional jointing techniques that let the timber frames slot together neatly. If you have some previous DIY experience, this should prove little trouble to set up and install on your property.

To help you out even after we’ve delivered your product, we’ll fit your kit with its own instruction manual for you to follow, and we can always offer you planning drawings upon request.

Why Choose a Half Brick Porch Kit from Us?

We love what we do, and we’re proud to say that there are many reasons customers from across the UK have chosen us to create their perfect half brick porches, in either oak or Douglas-fir timber frames. We’re always happy to explain these reasons as well, whenever you’re considering purchasing a porch kit from us:

Sustainably Sourced Products: Our products are all made from the finest green oak and Douglas-fir timber we have available to us. These trees are all specially grown in France and for every one used in our work we will ensure three more are planted in its place. This keeps our work sustainable, so we can keep producing a steady stream of high-quality porches for a long time to come.
Expert Timber Grading: We have a dedicated team of carpenters and timber graders on our site and they will thoroughly check every piece of wood we receive. They’ll look for any kind of flaws, faults or other weaknesses that could prevent a kit from achieving full structural integrity. Any timber pieces which fall below our standards will be responsibly recycled instead.
We’re Aided by Modern Technology: Every part of our process uses the latest equipment, offering you the best results from the work. This begins with machines that can pinpoint cracks or other weaknesses that the human eye wouldn’t spot when timber grading. It only continues as we move on to cutting a kit’s frames as we use machines which allow for precision accuracy, ruling out human error in every design.
Q-Mark Equivalent Products: Our products are all made and manufactured to the standards set by Exova BM TRADA. This means you can rest assured that every part of your half brick porch kit was crafted to standards set by the industry, and nothing less.

We supply a wide range of porch styles all across the UK.

Our Half Brick Porch Prices

The costs to build a half brick porch can vary considerably, depending on several different factors and choices made during the ordering process. Because of this, we cannot offer a fully set list of prices for our porches; instead, every product we make will be priced individually.

However, we don’t want you to worry about what this may mean for your budget when factoring in the cost of a porch. That’s why we’ll work closely with you to calculate the cost of every feature in your purchase, so the price you pay at the end is suited to your needs. We’re also a price competitive firm, so if there are any cheaper prices for half brick porches out there that you can bring back to us, we’re certain that we can match them.

Will a Half Brick Porch Require Planning Permission?

In most cases, the porch kits we supply and deliver for you to install will not need planning permission. However, there are some guidelines that have to be followed if you want this to be true for your own work. Your porch must:

– Not be more than 3m in height
– Not exceed 3m when measured externally
– Not be located within 2m of your property boundary

If you’d like to learn more about this, please see our post on planning permission for porches.

Will a Half Brick Porch Need Building Regulations Approval?

When you build a porch, it won’t normally need to be approved under the UK Building Regulations, as long as it’s kept at ground level and is under 30m². You should also ensure that:

– The front door of the existing house remains in place
– Any ramps or levelled access for people with disabilities are not affected and the property remains accessible

This all remains true as long as any glazing or electrical components and installations also adhere to their own regulations.
